Hello Fellow Design Enthusiasts!
My name is Melissa Wood and I’ve been working at Case since 2016. I’m here to share a little bit about me, my personal design style, and the reasons why I selected the materials I chose for my Ibby bathroom. I’m a busy mom, a wife, a health enthusiast, and a lover of anything design related! I love to spend time with my family, go on vacations, and strive to make my home feel like an oasis itself! I’d say my personal design style is a blend of modern and coastal. I love keeping main pieces (like furniture and cabinetry) neutral in color with clean, modern lines but introducing pops of color wherever I can with accent pieces. My go-to favorite accent colors are usually turquoise and light blue to remind me of the beach- my happy place!
That being said, my classic and timeless bathroom I’ve designed for Ibby has those exact features. I chose a neutral light gray cabinet color in a “shaker style” cabinet with a recessed panel that is timeless, easy to clean, and has minimal detail. The cabinet provides a nice contrast to the Carrara Grigio quartz countertop that features a marble look with a slight veining. I then choose one of my favorite 12×24 porcelain tiles for both the floors and the shower walls called “Purestone Grigio”. It’s a nice blend of the gray and white color palette with a subtle pattern to bring everything together. When considering remodeling your bathroom, larger tiles are great to use on both the floor and walls since they’re easier to clean with less grout lines and can definitely make the space look and feel bigger! For the sink, I chose a classic rectangular undermount from Kohler called the “Caxton”. I love the rectangular shape instead of a typical oval to keep everything consistent with clean lines. The plumbing fixtures are from Signature Hardware’s “Pinecrest” collection and are a more affordable version of Kohler’s “Memoirs” collection. To also keep it more affordable, I went with a polished chrome finish. However, if you’re open to a little more of an upgrade, one of my favorite design trends right now is anything with a brushed gold finish! Either way, this combination of materials all work together to create a neutral palate that gives each client the opportunity to make the space their own- with pops of color that can be incorporated with towels, accessories, artwork and more! So have fun with it and I hope you enjoy my take on a classic and timeless bathroom!
